To fulfill these objectives the staff of Living Light School of Worship have put together a truly unique program.
The nine months will be intense, requiring a genuine dedication and focus from all students. As Christians,
we believe in a measure of grace in our lives which should result in anointing and creative excellence.
However, if we are to realize this potential, we must give ourselves unreservedly and diligently to God.
The tuition fee for the nine month program is
$6,000 plus the cost of housing.






EXPLORATION OF WORSHIP

Examines the theology of praise and worship and its practical outworking in the Christian life. Topics will
include: expressions of biblical praise and worship, the power of praise, the lifestyle of a worshipper,
worshipping in spirit and truth, individual and corporate worship, and the presence of God.


FOUNDATIONS

Explores foundational truths of authentic New Testament Church life to envision and equip students to be
effective in the Body of Christ.


PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Focuses on Christ-like character development. Themes such as humility, the fruit of the Holy Spirit, integrity,
and growing in personal intimacy with God will be covered in depth.


PROPHETIC WORSHIP

Provides a forum for the practical learning and outworking of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Students will grow
in awareness of His leading and power in every day life and will specifically mature in the ability to function
prophetically in song, both vocally and instrumentally.


STEWARDSHIP IN LIFE

Majors on practical issues, such as time management, financial responsibility, personal relationships,
career goals and ethics, and servanthood.


INTRODUCTION TO THEOLOGY

Initiates the student into the work and goal of the study of God through Scripture. Students will be equipped
with basic skills in hermeneutics, surveying various approaches to theological work including historic,
biblical and systematic theology in an attempt to know and worship God with greater understanding.


BIBLE OVERVIEW

Works through the Old and New Testaments, book by book, emphasizing the major features and themes of
each, and noting how they relate in revealing the unfolding purpose of God in history.


BIBLE ELECTIVES - Students will choose two of the following three options:

1. OLD TESTAMENT CHARACTERS – Looks at some of the influential men and women of the Old Testament,
focusing on how God worked through them, what we can learn from their lives and how their example
translates to practical application for us today.
2. THE GOSPELS – Considers and compares the four biblical accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus, giving
attention to the unique perspectives they provide of His person, mission and impact.
3. PAULING EPISTLES – Studies the letters of Paul in the New Testament, noting what they reveal of him and
his ministry, and their role in establishing doctrine and practice in the Church
then and now.


THEORY I & II

Consists of studies in pitch and rhythm notation, rhythm and meter, intervals, major and minor scales, key
signatures, modes, triads and seventh chords, chord inversions, contemporary chord symbols, diatonic
and nondiatonic harmony, voice leading, extended chords, and elements of structure.


EAR TRAINING I & II

Involves the study and application of rhythm reading, rhythmic dictation, interval singing, melodic sight
singing, melodic dictation and transcription, chord type identification, chord progression dictation, and
part-writing.


SONGWRITING

Explores pop song structure nd musical composition, combined with a study of melody, lyrics, form, and style.
Students will write and co-write songs while using Finale music notation software.Practical application and
workshops are always included in class times. 


KEYBOARDING

Develops functional keyboard skills such as scales, chord reading, transposition, and comprehension of basic
keyboard theory [for those whose main instrument is not keyboard].


WORSHIP TEAMS

Encompasses various aspects of functioning as a worship team in a “hands-on” environment.





PRIVATE LESSONS ARE AVAILABLE IN SIX DIFFERENT FORMS ...

Guitar
Study of various styles and techniques, chord voicing, sight reading, transcribing, scales, modes, rhythm and lead playing, melodic phrasing, and ear training.

Keyboard
Study of technique and scales, stylistic variations, further development of reading skills, improvisational skills, ear training, transposition, and sampling and programming.

Bass
Study of scales, modes and their applications, various techniques and styles, music reading, chord chart reading, and bass line construction.

Drums
Study of snare drum rudiments, independence on the drum set, playing by ear, sight-reading, tuning, maintenance, and stylistic versatility.

Strings/Woodwinds/Brass
Study of technique, scales, modes, sight reading, chord chart reading, tone production, various styles/techniques, ear training, and improvisation.

Voice
Study and application of technique to free the natural voice: proper breathing, tone production, freedom from tension, developing a flexible throat, and training the ear. Additional coaching will involve developing stylistic versatility.
